The HARTT joined other NGOs in Trinidad and Tobago to understand and contribute to the development of targets, indicators and goals at the country level.
A key component of the Youth Peace and Security initiative aimed to promote Caribbean youth participation in global dialogues and inform the country’s implementation of the UNSCR2250.
Groups contributed their thoughts on what peace and security within Trinidad and Tobago meant to them and how their experiences have shaped their approach to peace and security.
This is a major breakthrough in our collective efforts to change the predominantly negative narrative on youth and recognize the significant role of young people in peacebuilding.

The four (4) day workshop explored how lived experiences can inform UNSCR 2250 implementation in Trinidad and Tobago. UNSCR 2250 is the UN’s first ever Resolution on Youth, Peace and Security, focusing on: Participation, Protection, Prevention, Partnerships, and Disengagement and Reintegration.
