HARTT’s Past Director
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management, Staff, and Trainees of HARTT, we honor the life and legacy of Mr. Melville Bryan, a dedicated Director of HARTT, cultural leader, and steadfast advocate for national development.
Mr. Bryan devoted decades of distinguished service to Trinidad and Tobago's steelband movement, serving as President of Pan Trinbago, a member of its Central Executive, and later as Consultant and Assistant Office Manager. Through his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment, he contributed significantly to the growth, promotion, and preservation of the steelpan, enriching both our cultural identity and national heritage. He was also a strong supporter of initiatives to document and preserve the history of the steelband movement, including efforts such as the National Pan History Project, which sought to archive the stories, images, and experiences that have shaped one of Trinidad and Tobago's greatest cultural achievements.
As a Director of HARTT, Mr. Bryan brought wisdom, integrity, compassion, and a deep belief in the power of service. His guidance strengthened our organization, while his passion for community development and people-centered leadership inspired all who had the privilege of working alongside him. He exemplified the values of dedication, humility, and excellence in every role he undertook.
Today, we celebrate a life marked by meaningful contribution, lasting impact, and unwavering commitment to the people and culture of Trinidad and Tobago. We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the wider steelband fraternity.
May his remarkable legacy continue to inspire generations to come, and may he rest in eternal peace.
